Two (2) Coptic textile fragments, circa 3rd – 10th century CE, one (1) in roundel form with central human figure surrounded by animal and/or human forms, and one (1) in oval form, present in two separate parts, with fruits and/or flower motif’s, Egypt, North Africa. Dimensions (approx.): Oval form 8" (max.) x 7" (max.)overall, but broken in two separate pieces, and round form with diameter 7.5"
PROVENANCE:From the estate of Professor Philip Gould, New York
Condition: Fair; fragmentary, tears, holes, fading, wear consistent with age; one fragment in two distinct pieces
