Group of (2) terracotta pestles, likely from the Inland Niger Delta, West Africa, showing significant use, and possibly of considerable age (terracotta pestles have been used in the Sahel area since the Iron Age). Approximate size, 5"H (larger), 4.5"H (smaller).
PROVENANCE: From the estate of Dr. Philip Gould, New York
