Asen alter staff, wrought iron, with two cast bronze figures made using the lost wax method, likely C19th or early C20th, Fon culture, Republic of Benin, West Africa. Approximate sixe, 8" high, 9" diameter.
PROVENANCE:From the estate of Professor Philip Gould, New York
Condition: Fair: losses to staff, missing mounting post and multiple pendant elements, oxidised surfaces throughout consistent with age
