Group of (2) Bura fragments, Niger, West Africa, 3rd – 13th century, one the top of an urn, with intricate incised markings, the other likely a memorial vessel, originally surmounted with a human figure (now lost), complete with anthropomorphic surface decoration.
PROVENANCE: From the estate of Dr. Philip Gould, New York
Condition: Fair, excavated pieces, with wear consistent with age.
