Mossi peoples copper alloy anklet currency, Burkina Faso, West Africa; and an exhibited Ngombe peoples copper alloy currency, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Central Africa (exhibited at "Africa’s Iron and Copper Currencies", Institute of African Studies, Columbia University, New York, New York, March 2000). Dimensions (approx.): 5" Max. diameter x 2.75" high (Mossi), and 4.25" max diameter x 2.25" high (Ngombe)
PROVENANCE:From the estate of Professor Philip Gould, New York
Condition: Fair; dirt accumulation, oxidised surfaces, wear commensurate with age
